Weather

The prevailing wind in this region of the Mediterranean generally blows from the northwest. Beware of the Mistral, which can blow very hard from the Gulf of Lion and raise an impressive sea on the west coast of Corsica. From April to October there is a phenomenon of thermal breezes in the afternoon. The winds are often stronger in the gulfs and on the capes, the anchorages are generally calm at night. The water temperature varies from 18 to 29°C, ideal for the success of your sailing cruise in Corsica. During the summer months, from May to September, the winds are on average force 3 to 5. In winter, the weather is influenced by depressions coming from the Atlantic. Winds can reach force 6 (sometimes more) and blow from the south-west or north-west.
