Discover Italy with our wide choice of sailing and motor yachts for charter.
Well-known for its landscape and gastronomy, Italy is the perfect place to sail not far from home. You will discover beautiful islands (Elba, Capraia, Capri, Ischia), unusual villages (Amalfi, Positano), splendid cities (Roma, Naples) and can even explore further till the Messina Detroit and the Aeolien Islands.
Just a few hours' drive from Switzerland, the marinas of Castiglioncello, San Vincenzo, Scarlino, La Spezia and San Remo are ideal places to charter your sailing or motor yacht in Italy, and to reach Corsica, Capraia and Elba, or simply to sail along the Italian coast and discover the picturesque ports of Portofino, Porto Ercole or Talamone. These marinas are modern, clean and fully equipped.
Elba enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate and abundant vegetation. Corsica offers protection from the north-westerly Mistral wind. In summer, you'll enjoy the scenery, while in spring and autumn, more athletic sailors will be able to let off steam thanks to the stronger north-northwest wind, while in the south, the sirocco brings high, long waves. Elba is the ideal starting point for a crewed yacht cruise from the northwest to Capraia, Cap Corse and Bastia. Or why not simply enjoy a cruise around Elba Island, where you'll find numerous bathing bays, harbors and marinas, and of course excellent Trattoria.
The ports of Tropea and Reggio di Calabria are ideal for chartering a private yacht and discovering the Aeolian Islands, the Strait of Messina and the east coast of Sicily (Taormina, Catania, Siracusa). Located at the southernmost tip of the Italian peninsula, Reggio lies in the majestic setting of the Strait and at the foot of the Aspromonte. The attenuating effect of the Strait's waters and Reggio's geographical position make it one of the sunniest and happiest destinations in terms of climate. Tropea and Reggio are easily reached by air via the international airports of Lamezia Terme and Catania. An ideal destination for crewed yacht charters in Italy.
It is often said that light winds blow over this sea. This is true for the period going from mid-June till mid-September ; this period is perfect for families with children for relaxing holidays. During the rest of the year, the wind conditions are similar to that of the Adriatic and the more sportive sailing lovers will be happier. Western winds blow quite often. Thermal winds on the coast also carry some charm. Diurnal breezes can reach 3-5 Bft. A high stable pressure is common in this region in the Tyrrhenian sea. The sun shines bright and hard (do not forget your solar cream !) while the rain is rare.
The Pozzuoli marina is located north of Naples. The Amalfi Coast is considered one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world. It owes its fame to a spectacular coastline with picturesque villages like Amalfi, Positano and Salermo, and magnificent islands like Capri, Procida, Ischia and Ponza. Sail along the Campania coast, into the Gulf of Naples and then from island to island to Capri. Picturesque fishing harbors, large bays, excellent Italian wines and a lively nightlife will make your luxury yacht charter and your trip an unforgettable experience. The Amalfi Coast is famous for its charming little villages, tiny harbors and dazzling colorful houses. Countless small coves bask along the cliffs and the sea shimmers in every shade from sky blue to emerald green. You can visit many famous historical sites in and around Naples, such as Pompeii and Herculaneum, climb Mount Vesuvius or relax in the thermal waters of Ischia.
