And rightly so: these islands, off the coast of Africa, are dazzlingly beautiful. An ideal link to discover after chartering your luxury sailing or motor yacht in Praslin or Mahé.
Of the 115 islands that make up the Seychelles, the 41 Inner Islands are the oldest granite islands in the universe. The remaining 74 islands - the Outer Islands - are coral islands.
The Inner Islands, notably Praslin and La Digue, are close to the main island, Mahé. The many other islands are also well worth a visit, and you can consult our itineraries for more information and suggestions on discovering them. In particular, don't miss Curieuse Island (home to giant tortoises, magnificent excursions, turquoise beaches) and Cousin Island (nature reserve where 90-minute guided tours are available to see the island's exceptional flora and fauna).
The ideal base for a dream cruise on a private crewed yacht, Praslin is the second largest granite island in the Seychelles. Surrounded by magnificent white-sand bays and protected by coral reefs, Praslin is home to the legendary Vallée de Mai. This National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a paradise for the famous coco de mer, more commonly known as coco-fesses.
Don't miss the Georgette and Kerlan coves in the north-west of the island, and the famous Anse Lazio beach in the north-east.
Just 20 minutes from the airport, Eden Island base is located on Mahé, the main island of the Seychelles, and is the perfect starting point for chartering your yacht. The island of Mahé is ideal for hiking in the Morne Seychellois National Park. For snorkeling, Sainte-Anne National Marine Park is just 5 km away.
Enjoy the sunset on Beau Vallon beach or at the delicious Del Place restaurant in Port Glaud.
The Island of la Digue is a must stop place during your luxury cruise in the Seychelles.
We would recommend that you rent a bike with which you can easily tour aroud the island in one day to discover its hidden treasures.
From the main square of the island near the port (good shelter in case of strong winds), you can trave along the western coast till the reputed Anse Source d’Argent which is one the most photographed beaches in the world. Then you will cross the island (count around 20 minutes) to reach the east coast where you can leave your bicycle at Grand Anse to reach Petit Anse and Anse Cocos by foot(around 30 minutes walking).
Two opposing trade wind regimes govern Seychelles' climate: north-westerly winds blow at an average of 8 to 12 knots from November to March. The sea is generally calm, with warm temperatures and humid weather.
The stronger southeasterly winds from April to October, from 10 to 20 knots, are ideal for chartering yachts with captain and crew and for sailing. The air is drier and the temperature less warm.
The Seychelles islands can be visited any time of the year. The climate is always good and the mean temperatures vary between 24 to 32 maximum.
The best conditions for swimming, snorkeling and scuba diving are reunited in April/May and October / November, the water temperature can reach 29 degrees celcius and the visibilty in the water is great at more than 30 meters down.
From December to February, there may be more rain compared to other months.
