Discover Ibiza and the Balearic Islands on a luxury crewed yacht

Whether you prefer lounging or water sports, visiting nature parks or clubbing in internationally renowned nightclubs, there's something for everyone in the Balearic Islands.

Les Baléares à la voile

The Balearic archipelago lies off the eastern coast of the Iberian Peninsula, functioning as an autonomous province of Spain. These islands are among the most beautiful and popular in the western Mediterranean.

They are particularly ideal for sailing and motor yacht charters. There are four main islands: Mallorca (the largest), Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera. These four islands boast more than 360 beautiful golden-sand beaches. There are also many smaller islands and islets, such as Cabrera, just waiting to be explored. Mallorca, Menorca and Cabrera form what are known as the Gymesias. Ibiza and Formentera are often referred to as the Pityuses (perhaps an ancient reference to pine trees).

Ibiza is, of course, world-famous for its vibrant nightlife. Its wine culture is also very interesting: there are at least 13 winemakers on the Balearic Islands, and wine has been produced here since Roman times. The Cabrera Archipelago National Park comprises a group of 19 small islands and islets located around 10 kilometers (just over 6 miles) south of Mallorca. It is home to many species of seabirds, and its waters teem with dolphins, whales and other marine life.

With almost 300 days of sunshine a year, magnificent beaches, crystal-clear waters, a rich cultural history and friendly locals, the Balearic Islands are the perfect place to spend your luxury yacht cruise. Whether you prefer idleness or water sports, visiting nature parks or archaeological ruins, or clubbing in internationally renowned nightclubs, there's something for everyone in the Balearic Islands.

Winds

The prevailing winds generally blow from the north at a maximum of 15 knots. Probabililty of strong winds is higher between October and April. The Sirocco (south) and the Mistral (north-west) are tempered by the Gulf of Lion and cause rough seas. Minorca is known as the Windy Island due to a cold and dry northern wind called the Tramontana. This has also led to the popularits of the island for sailors and windsurfers / kitesurfers.
