Weather
This Mediterranean area can be divided in two zones. On the west side of Toulon, the winds blowing from the Nort West prevail all year round. The Tramontana blows from the Pyrénés at Sète and the mistral comes down the Rhone valley, sometimes reaching Corsica and Sardinia. The sky in this region owes its exceptionnal blue colour to the mistral. The summer breeze rarely exceeds 15 to 20 knots, from the south and the south east. The Mistral has little influence on the east of Toulon..
A marine wind from the South East blows generally as from noon, at not more than 15 knots and stops at nightfall.
Sea and tides : a southern / south westerly sea surge can sometimes occur on the west of Toulon, but it rapidly decreases as it approaches East. The temperature of the water in summer is perfect for all seawater activities. There is no major tide (less than 30 cm).
